Gas Safety Week 2015

Gas Safety Week 2015

When was the last time you had your gas appliances checked?

Did you know that over 20 million households in the United Kingdom use gas for heating, cooking and hot water? Yet a whopping 43% of Brits don’t get their gas appliances checked regularly.

Just like you would go to the dentist for teeth checkups or get your car MOT every year, so too should you have your gas appliances checked by a Gas Safe engineer.

This week marks the start of the fifth annual Gas Safety Week, a week which strives to raise awareness of gas safety and encourage people to have their gas appliances safety checked.

Thousands of Britons are diagnosed every year with carbon monoxide poisoning. What’s more, Gas Safe Register estimates that up to 250,000 illegal gas jobs may be carried out every year.

Here at Britannia, we believe this is a great cause to get behind. Find your nearest Gas Safe engineer and get your gas appliances tested tested! If you’d like to join us in raising awareness, you can pledge your support on the Gas Safe Register website, here. For further information about Gas Safety Week or for any gas tips, click here.
