Britannia Range Cooker Retailers - Specialist Product Training


Retailers in the South no longer need make a trip up to Blackpool for Britannia’s  popular training course, as the range cooker specialists have teamed up with the exclusive Meluki Cookery School to offer a series of sessions in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

Henneke Duistermaat, Director of Marketing at Britannia, comments:  “Since our courses first launched in 2004, hundreds of retailers have undergone training at our purpose-built teaching centre at head office.  Demand from retailers, however, has been such that we’ve been looking to supplement the core programme with sessions in the south and Meluki has proved the perfect solution.”

Run by Britannia’s Home Economist Debbie Hale and aided by one of Meluki’s chefs, the half day courses take place in the cookery school’s kitchen, which is fitted with a 90cm professional hotplate, a 100cm Sigma range cooker with Chef Top and a K7088 hood with ASC.

The four hour sessions have been designed to help retailers learn more about Britannia’s portfolio and better understand unique features such as the Chef Top, rotisserie and multi-functional cooking. To help get maximum benefit, the informal sessions are restricted to just 6-8 delegates and focus on practical demonstrations, which give retailers a real taste of the Britannia experience as they help create some delicious dishes including Mediterranean chicken, salmon with hollandaise sauce and nectarine tarte tatin.

The first session was held on 16 January with others already planned in for 5 February and 12 March.  Nick Moss of Ridgeons was amongst the first attendees:  “It’s always easier to advise customers when you’ve had personal experience of the product you’re trying to sell, and this course was a fun and informative introduction to Britannia’s portfolio.  Having seen the quality of the range cookers first hand, I will have no hesitation in recommending them to my customers.”
