Kitchen Case Study: A 100cm range cooker in a solid wood kitchen

20TH JANUARY 2016

If you’re looking to create a really unique kitchen, why not try blending old features with new? This unique solid wood kitchen, from Eastburn Country Furniture, combines an antique island with new cabinets and a modern range cooker. The customer requested a contemporary country style kitchen with solid wood throughout. They also asked for a unique feature to be integrated into the design to give the kitchen the wow factor.

Sarah Watkins, of Eastburn Country Furniture, said: “We found an antique unit from an old printer’s works and turned it into a bespoke kitchen island, which became a natural focal point of the room.” They added a charismatic pie crust sink, to open up the run of units, while building on the contemporary country design.

The Britannia Q Line range cooker was chosen “to keep the contemporary look with a country edge”. The robust build of the cooker complements the solid wood cabinets, while the stainless steel splashback adds to the contemporary styling of the kitchen.
