Oven functions

Nine function - 90cm, 60cm ovens

Conventional cooking
1 - CONVENTIONAL COOKING

This function is suitable for roasting meats and baking on one shelf only, e.g. roasting joints, breads, fruitcakes.

Bottom element only
2 - BOTTOM ELEMENT ONLY

This is for the slow cooking of stews and casseroles and is also suitable for cooking pizzas and sweet and savoury flans.

Top element only
3 - TOP ELEMENT ONLY

Used for the browning and finishing off of dishes e.g. lasagne, cottage pie, cheese toppings on gratin dishes such as cauliflower cheese.

Conventional grilling
4 - TRADITIONAL GRILLING

This is suitable for bread and bread-based snacks, e.g. crumpets, muffins, teacakes and Welsh rarebit.

Fan assisted grilling
5 - FAN ASSISTED GRILLING

This is an ideal function to cook chops, sausages, chicken portions and mixed grills.

Fan assisted oven
6 - FAN ASSISTED OVEN

This function can be used for baked fish, roasted meats and poultry. It is also suitable for frozen potato products and breaded or battered fish and chicken.

True fan oven
7 - TRUE FAN OVEN

This function allows several kinds of food to be cooked at the same time on several shelves, e.g. batch baking of small cakes, biscuits etc.

8 - PIZZA FUNCTION

The lower element ensures a perfectly cooked base, while a gentle all-round heat browns the topping.

QUICKSTART AND DEFROST
9 - QUICKSTART AND DEFROST

This function provides a fast preheat system by selecting the required temperature on the thermostat. DEFROST -For safe defrosting of small items such as fish and poultry pieces. It is particularly suitable for gentle thawing of cream cakes and desserts.

Four function - 40cm, 30cm ovens

Traditional grilling
1 - TRADITIONAL GRILLING

This is suitable for bread and bread-based snacks, e.g. crumpets, muffins, teacakes and Welsh rarebit.

Bottom element
2 - BOTTOM ELEMENT ONLY

Uses the bottom element of the oven. This is perfect for the gentle, slow cooking of stews and casseroles.

Top element
3 - TOP ELEMENT ONLY

Uses the top element only, making it absolutely ideal for browning.

CONVENTIONAL OVEN
4 - CONVENTIONAL OVEN

Normal conventional oven using top and bottom elements, for pastries and general use.

ROTISSERIE

Rotisserie

A superb succulent way to cook pork, chicken, duck and other game birds. As the rotisserie uses the grill element there is minimal spitting, which helps maintain a clean oven cavity. The rotisserie comes with every Britannia, except the 120cm cooker.
