Range Cooker Style Options
What kitchen design suits your personal style? Will it be a more traditional or a contemporary kitchen? Or do you want to create a commercial look? Whatever your personal style is, you have to be sure that your range cooker looks “right” and in keeping with the rest of your kitchen. For a little inspiration, why not have a look at the range cooker gallery? The gallery shows Britannia range cookers in a variety of kitchen designs.
Windows or no windows?
This is purely a matter of personal taste. Britannia oven doors are triple-glazed (apart from the oven doors of the E Line range cookers which are double glazed). The energy efficiency of ovens with “windowed” doors is comparable to those without windows. Do you prefer the clean lines of a solid door without windows? Then have a look at Britannia’s Dynasty range cookers. All other Britannia range cookers feature windows in the oven doors.
Freestanding or a more built-in look?
All Britannia twin and single oven range cookers are suitable for a freestanding look with visible legs. If you want to have a more built-in look, then plinth kits are available to hide the legs. A plinth kit is 14cm high and can not be used if the cooker legs are adjusted at less than 14.5cm high. Because the legs of all single and twin oven range cookers are slightly set back, you can also have the same plinth as your kitchen cabinets below the cooker. Please note that XG range cookers (with a separate grill compartment) come with a matching plinth as standard.
Modern style
Range cookers used to be associated with more traditional kitchens. However, in recent years there has been a trend towards modern kitchen design and range cookers are now more often installed as a focal point in contemporary kitchens. A stainless steel Sigma range cooker or a gloss black Dynasty or E Line range cooker will look great in an ultra-modern high gloss kitchen.
Commercial style
For a commercial look, stainless steel range cookers tend to be chosen. If you have sufficient space, then a 150cm or 120cm Sigma range cooker in stainless steel will be a great choice. Alternatively, for a slightly smaller kitchen, choose a Dynasty range cooker in stainless steel and complement it with a Legato hood.
Traditional style
The Classic range cookers with arched windows and ornate trims suit a more traditional décor. A Classic range cooker tends to be selected for period houses, country-style kitchens and barn conversions.
