While our appetite for colour in the kitchen shows no sign of abating, when it comes to ‘kitchen cool’, it seems that ultra-modern gloss white is the hot new shade for 2009; and helping us achieve the look is range cooker specialist Britannia, who has just added ‘Pure White’ to its Sigma Editions collection.
Designed to complement its standard choice of Stainless Steel, Gloss Black and Cream, the Sigma Editions range offers an affordable means of adding a splash of colour to kitchens. Available on the Sigma 100cm, one of Britannia’s best selling models, customers can now also choose between Pure White and three other attractive shades: Ice Blue, Candy Pink and Velvet Red.
Henneke Duistermaat, Director of Marketing at Britannia, comments: “Colour has been huge in the kitchen in recent years and while demand is still high, we’re seeing some customers go almost full circle and take the trend back to the ‘white’ appliances which we began with. That said, the current ‘white look’ is very different to that of the 80s and 90s, with white appliances now often being set into high gloss units and sleek white worktops for a real high-impact look.”
She continues: “White appliances can also work well in more traditional kitchens, contrasting beautifully with wooden units and pastel walls; and it is this great versatility and wide appeal that led us to add ‘Pure White’ to the Sigma Editions collection.”
Renowned for its quality features and versatility, the Sigma 100cm is as much a treat to foodies as it is to style aficionados. Britannia’s most prestigious model, it offers an impressive specification, including a six burner hotplate with two triple ring burners, a nine function oven with Quickstart pre-heat system and a fully automatic programmer and minute minder, plus a four function oven with rotisserie.
The Sigma 100cm in ‘Pure White’ is priced at £3,399 and to ensure a fully co-ordinated look, a matching hood is available for £899 and a plinth kit for £199.
